Warner Music Australia (WMA) has a long and proud history of presenting the world's best music. Producing and distributing music and entertainment in a wide range of formats including video, CD, DVD and game software in Australia, Warner is involved in a range of activities to ensure they are a premier music company with the artist community by providing a creative and motivational environment.
WMA is a subsidiary company of Warner Music International (WMI) which, in turn, is a subsidiary of Time Warner Group.
As a subsidiary of WMI, WMA needed to provide information as part of an International Information Management venture. WMI simultaneously developed a global solution (SLC300) to receive electronic data feeds from all of its affiliates.
Day3 established an affiliation with WMA to develop the information management solution, redeveloping the current Warner Information System (WIS) and linking this to WMI’s SLC300 system.
In correcting the deficiencies found in the WIS database, an example of Day3's development is the enablement of the system to secure royalties to be captured at the song level where as previously, they were secured at the at the tune level, which leads to a substantial data entry overhead and potentially inaccurate royalty information.
