Melbourne Tigers Site Launch
New Melbourne Kmart Tigers site launches tonight

Melbourne, Australia (November 18, 2000) The latest site developed by PowerServe Sports and Entertainment, the new and improved Melbourne Kmart Tigers website, goes live tonight.

To be launched at the Chairman’s Dinner at the Vodafone Arena by Melbourne Tigers Marketing Manager, Mr Jeff van Gronigen and PowerServe Chief Executive, Mr Rob van der End, the Tiger’s website will provide the best in live and behind the scenes coverage of Australian basketball, creating a ‘new’ benchmark in online sports experience.

“The Tigers site represents a new step in Internet sports revolution – closing the time-delay differentiators and bringing sport to the net user in real-time. Apart from a LIVE experience, the site will bring statistics, stories and commentary, as well as events, merchandise and the best in digital entertainment,” PowerServe Chief Executive, Mr Rob van der End said.

Tonight, with the official launch of the new Tiger’s site, Melbourne Tiger’s fans will have access to the best in club news and information as they follow their team’s ascent as basketball greats and also as Internet innovators.

According to Mr van der End: “By combining the most recognised brand in basketball with Australia’s leading eConsultancy firms, Australian Basketball fans will gain the benefit of an online experience never before seen in Australia.”

“A phased launch of features will follow this initial launch to ensure that everyone can follow and participate with the club in new and interesting ways. The community tools will allow fans to interact online with their favourite players and have a say. To be added will be chat, merchandise and further interactive tools.”

The Tiger’s site has been developed in partnership between The Melbourne Kmart Tigers and PowerServe Sport and Entertainment (a division of PowerServe Pty Ltd). This partnership also covers the live coverage of all home and away team games as a netcast through NBLlive.com and on Radio 97.4 FM in Melbourne.

PowerServe Sport and Entertainment’s, through its initiative with NBLlive.com, is the first in Australia lead to netcast NBL games. Both NBLLive.com and the Tigers.com.au sites, will produce the best in online basketball news and entertainment totally geared for the fans.
