Norske Skog (formerly Fletcher Challenge Paper and Australian Newsprint Mills respectively) initially came to Day3 in mid-1997, seeking electronic automation of a number of company procedures for Occupational Health and Safety.
Norske Skog Australasia Pty Ltd was established in July 2000 following the purchase of Fletcher Challenge Paper and is currently the supplier of over 650,000 tonnes of paper to publishers and commercial printers. With offices in Melbourne and Sydney, Norske Skog supply more than 85 per cent of the newspaper requirements for metropolitan and regional printers nationally.
Day3's initial development spawned a relationship that meant continued updates and support and then in October 1997, the development of a Key Performance Indicator System for measuring staff and plant performance.
In June 1998, this was followed by an electronic weighbridge system, and then a Damage Roll System for measuring damage to paper rolls as they are created.
Then when Fletcher Challenge Paper became Norske Skog, the unity had fostered a strong confidence and assurance in Day3's capabilities.
